Teachus Mission International Christian Academy (TMICA) is a boarding school for Guinean students from all over Guinea. Our vision is raising future leaders through a comprehensive Christian education from elementary school to college. It was conceived in 1994 when Pastor Joshua C. Y. Kim was serving in Gambia and Senegal. It took 10 years of prayers and perseverance to open its doors in 2004. |
Guinean Students
Students are selected from all over Guinea with a simple IQ test and an interview. Our school accepts students without discrimination of their religion or tribe. We try to select students to represent the population of Guinea.
12 students for one teacher is the ratio that we are trying to keep, following the discipleship model of Jesus Christ. |
Teachers are from overseas.
Teachers are recruited from US and other countries. We are trying to provide the American level education to Guinean students so that we can equip them to change this poor nation. Moreover, we are praying that they will become global leaders.
We are always looking for committed Christian teachers who are interested in M4 Missions. Teachers must commit 9 months from June to March.
Teachers will be given M4 Missions Training while they are serving. They live in a tribal village and commute to our school. They will disciple our students at TMICA and minister to the Muslim villagers.

Christian Educational Curriculum
All textbooks are Christian based. For example, God's Wonderful World is our science book.
Worship begins each school day. Students love to praise God. Visitors to our school are always overwhelmed by the awesome praise time.
All subjects are taught at our school: Reading, Writing, Math, Science, History, etc.
Important: Producing Our Own Textbooks: Over the years, we have realized that textbooks from the US are not suitable for African children.
We are in our initial stage of producing our own textbooks and/or workbooks that will be used to teach our Guinean students. Enormous amounts of books are available and it is a time consuming process for our M4 missionaries to select materials for each lesson.
We are aiming to produce an English and Math textbooks for 3rd and 6th Grade for the next the academic year which begins July, 2009. We are not expecting to publish it formally at this time. Simply, we would like to have lessons for each day of the academic year so that missionaries can adequately teach and make disciple of our students.
Format of the textbook
1. A lesson for each day in class
2. Exercises in class
3. Homework
If you would like to help us, please contact us asap. You can give us some assitance in recommending books, compiling materials, and even sharing with us your lesson plans if you are a teacher.

Tuition and Accommodation Free
It is totally free for the students to attend our school. Guinean studentscannot afford to even buy textbooks from the US because they cost more than a monthly wages for their parents. We are depending solely on God for our finances.
In the future, our trained Guineans will take over the school. When they are operating the school on their own, they will charge tuition and accommodations. Until then, we will be a tuition-free school.
We never had to ask for funds and we will not solicite for finance. We trust in God who has begun a good work will carry us to its completion. Godly men and women around the world have contributed for this project and you can participate in God work with us.
