Making disciples is the ultimate strategy of Jesus Christ to take this gospel to the ends of the earth. Every Christians are called to follow Jesus Christ and make disciples.
If you are not making disciples now, you are probably not discipled adequately. The discipleships and bible studies you had in the past did not prepare you for the task of making disciples.
One day Chelsea, pastor Joshua Kim's daughter asked this question, "Dad, how do you make disciples?" She was only 8 years old. She knew the main ministry of Jesus Christ.
Spiritual Obesity might the greatest problem that Churches are facing today. We must go and make disciples so that we can finish the task of reaching the world. But it must begin where you are.
Here is some practical advice.
1. Call:
"Would you like to have one to one bible study?" That's how Pastor Joshua Kim began his discipleship and it changed his life.
2. Meet:
Regular meetings for discipleship must take place. There are many good discipleship work books
are available in bookstores. You may use one of them.
3. Commission:
Once you are done with the discipleship material, you must commission them to go and make a disciple with the same workbook.
4. Encourage:
No one is a natural discipler. It will take time and experience. Anticipate difficulties and obstacles. You must encourage them to make 3 generation disciples.
